  24. The most likely scenario is that the Powerbook is a 5300 (or maybe a 190).
  25. In this case, it's my opinion that a 'MAC' card would work better.
  26. I've read on the newsgroups about various problems having to do with
  27. 'non-MAC-specific' cards not working with certain fax/communication
  28. programs on the 5300.

  30. Also, I know for a fact that the PC Cards from Global Village (where I
  31. work, so yes I'm biased) were made specifically for the 5300 & 190 (but
  32. were also designed to work on the 500 series when the type C cardcage
  33. becomes available).  Our modems come with fax/comm software compatible
  34. with these machines, as well as special 'Mac like' features found with no
  35. other modem (for example the AppleGuide hypertext 'AT Command Reference')
  36. as well as excellent written documentation and Mac specific support.
